“Snail Hunting” at 42nd Fajr IFF

The press conference of the movie “Snail Hunting” directed by Mohsen Jasour and produced by Mustafa Soltani was held with the presence of the cast and crew following the screening of the film on Thursday February 1st.
The meeting started with one minute’s silence to honor the memory of Hesam Mahmoudi, the late actor of the film.
Addressing the audience Jasour described the first day of the festival as a day full of excitement and enthusiasm. Then he continued: “The original title of the movie was “Minoo’s Scent”, but during the rewriting process, I decided that it was not captivating enough. I believe that the title of a film can help it to be seen more visibly.”
“I had already worked on the theme of this work in my other profession as a photographer. I used to make the cinematic work based on my creativity & intuition. Simorgh – the most prestigious award of Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) – is important but the reaction of the audience is of paramount importance to me” he stated. Elsewhere, the director of the movie pointed out to the wonderful presence of his wife Farnaz Zoufa in the film, saying Ms. Zoufa joined the crew just a week before starting the shooting. He also referred to the absence of Hesam Mahmoudi in the movie, saying that he is absent physically as his soul is beside all of the crew now. He described the atmosphere of the movie production as friendly.
Being in the “Snail Hunting” was a unique and challenging experience to me,” said Farnaz Zoufa, the actress of the movie. Zoufa said “Mr. Mohsen Jasour and I worked separately as professionals before we met and got married. It was challenging to maintain professional ethics and separate personal life from work, but it was also an unparalleled and enjoyable experience”. Zoufa continued, “I worked with late Hesam Mahmoudi in this project and we all visualize the moments of presence in the festival along with him. Now, in his absence, a feeling of sadness and loneliness overshadowed the whole group. To Hesam Mahmoudi being in “Snail Hunting” was a different experience and a good record in his artistic career.
