Press Meeting of “The Knight”

The press conference for the movie “Shahsavar” (The Knight) was held on Saturday, February 3, 2024, on the third day of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF).
Directed by Hossein Namazi, the film narrates a wedding ceremony over three days and nights, capturing the essence of a joyous celebration,featuring Elnaz Habibi, Mehrdad Seddiqian, and Hadi Kazemi.
“Last year around this time, we were somewhere with Mr. Namazi and suddenly the idea of the film came to his mind. He wrote that on paper and I was very happy with it”, said Saeid Ataeian, the movie’s producer.He continued: “This work was very enjoyable despite all its hardships and difficulties. I must appreciate all the cast and crew members who tried their best to make this happen”. He also hailed the residents of the village in which the shooting was going on. In the continuation of the meeting; Hussain Namazi, the film director praised Ezzatullah Ramezanifar and the other cast and said: I started cinema going through many hardships and misfortune, I was fond of cinema so much that my parents felt for me. My filmmaking was self-taught. I started by making short films and came a long way, so I can say that I am a child of cinema and nothing in this world has been more important to me than cinema. Referring to the movie “Appendix”, he said: “Appendix” was an interesting happening in my life, it received many international awards. I reached a point where I felt that I could no longer make a sad film. I don’t care if this movie is similar to The Deceased (Shadravaan) or not. Because both films are my work and I like this atmosphere. In another part of this meeting, Hadi Kazemi, the actor of the film, said: I am grateful to Mr. Namazi for choosing me for this film. We didn’t try to make people laugh in this movie, and we missed it in some places. This movie is not a comedy but a life. Life includes laughter, crying, challenges and various issues. Hossein Namazi further said: The principle is that all characters should have a story. My method is to write, read and rewrite the script several times. I used to make a film with many characters involved.
The FIFF is a major film event, which is organized every year to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Presided by Mojtaba Amini, the 42st Fajr International Film Festival will be held from February 1-11, 2024, in Tehran.
