The director and producer of “When You Were Not Here”, Kaveh Sajjadi Hosseini says that he has always taken the issue of emigration into account.
Sajjadi Hosseini whose feature “When You Were Not Here” is one of the contenders in the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF), said that “It’s better to take a subject into consideration rather than to turn a blind eye to it”.
Emigration which results from losing some precious items have always been my concern, he underlined.
Illegal emigration and family challenges, as ramifications of the immigration, should be focused in the cinematic work, he underscored.
The feature has attracted the attention of the cinematic work, he added,recounting the story of a woman who loves her husband but has to tolerate loneliness to reach him.
The 42nd FIFF kicked off in Tehran on February 1. It will end on February 11.
