Head of Iran Cinematic Organization and FIFF Director Met Ayatollah Javadi Amoli / Meanness Doesn’t Have a Place in Cinema

Head of Iran Cinematic Organization, Dr. Hojatollah Ayoubi, and the 34th FIFF director, Reza Mirkarimi had a meeting with Ayatollah Javadi Amoli alongside a number of the other festival directors.
According to the public relations office of the 34th FIFF, Hojatollah Ayoubi, Reza Mirkarimi, Majid Majidi, a jury member, Reza Kianian, head of the Festival Palace, Keyvan Kasirian, head of Communication and Media, Hadi Naeeji, and Jalil Akbari had a meeting with Ayatollah Javadi Amoli on Saturday, April 16th.
In this meeting, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stated, “Cinema is not a virtual medium. Those who call it ‘virtual’ don’t know the proper ways to think.” He added, “Human beings have witnessed a lot of disasters in the last two centuries. World Wars I & ll, and wars in the recent years have taught people that it’s not possible to rule the world with violence. Western countries wrongly believe that they can fill human beings’ void with entertainment; however, they must know that humanity seeks moral commonalities and requires a universal language to communicate.”
He also mentioned, “The rich culture of our country could be transferred worldwide through that universal language. Art is capable of leaving a great influence on the society; therefore, it could be used for sharing Islamic beliefs.” He continued, “Prophet Muhammad’s doctrine is known among people throughout the world. ‘Muhammad, the Messenger of God’ is a film which attempts to clarify any existing ambiguities and misunderstandings regarding our prophet. I hope the upcoming parts of this film come out as soon as possible so we can portray Prophet Muhammad’s life completely.”
“Western cinema solely evokes people’s imagination. Structure and content must be in balance. A rich content cannot engage the audience if it lacks a rich structure. Real cinema awakens people and leaves a great impact on the society.”, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli said.
