The press conference for the “Dream Town” — a visit to the world of fantasy — was held on Monday, February 5, 2024, in Milad Tower where the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) is underway.
The movie was the last one screened on the fifth day of the FIFF.
Written and directed by Mohsen Enayati, the work has not only been made for children but also tried to engage adults.
Enayati who has earlier directed the animated film ‘Benjamin’ said that animation production is “challenging.”
A team worked on the script for 6 months, he said, adding that some parts of the work were revised.
The filmmaker added that some other parts of the work will be revised in the near future.
Mostafa Hasanabadi, the producer of the animation, said that the pre-production of the work clicked three years ago.
The production was difficult as it took place in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, he further noted.
“Dream Town, looking to the future, is the story of a boy named “Arat” who decides to save his city from destruction, along with Pasha, his funny and handsome friend, and “Tamara”, the smart and clever girl of the story, as his companions.
Composer Behzad Abdi said: I love music by its very nature and to me it’s really rewarding when everything takes on a dramatic effect; I would love to be in this job and with this lovely group. After the past collaborations, they were kind to me again, and I tried to work with fantasy, and this animation had nearly 50 minutes of original music.
The FIFF is a major film event, which is organized every year to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
Presided by Mojtaba Amini, the 42nd edition of Iran’s largest annual film festival will be held from February 1-11, 2024, in Tehran.
