During the closing ceremony of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF), the Director of the Festival Mojtaba Amini said “I congratulate you on the victory anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
“I pay homage to the martyrs of the recent terrorist attack in Iran’s Kerman and the oppressed martyrs of the Gaza war.”
He said that 33 cinematic works were screened in the national section of the Festival.
Press conferences, special meetings, and workshops were convened in the event with journalists, film critics, and artists in attendance, he added.
The section “New Perspective” hosted promising works, he stated.
Every day of the ten-day Festival was dedicated to a prominent artist who had played a key role in the Iranian cinema, Amin said.
“This year’s festival depicted the life story or memory of the national heroes, the esteemed martyrs Ahmad Kazmi, Ali Akbar Shiroudi, and Mehdi Zeineddin.”
Iran’s cinema met a balance among content production, national and strategic themes as well as popular cinematic works, he pointed out.
Another feature of this edition of the FIFF was extra screening sessions across Iran, the Director of the Festival noted.
Amini thanked the media for the excellent news coverage of the flagship event.
He expressed hope that the films would be screened next year (starting on March 21) with an enthusiastic reception from the audience.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the attendance of the filmmakers, professors, and jurors in the International Section, noting that their participation was fruitful.
Apart from screening the films and holding the international Film Market, specialized meetings were held in this year’s Festival, he further noted.
As he stated, a number of high-profile delegations also participated in the festival days and helped expand international relations in Iranian cinema.
