Press conference of the international jury of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) was convened in Tehran on the 10th day of the prestigious event on Saturday (February 10, 2024). The jurors from Italy, Russia, Spain, China, and Iran took part in the press conference at the Milad Tower International Convention Center. During the presser, the Chinese juror Wu Lang said “This is my first visit to Iran and also being a juror in a film festival.” He described the atmosphere among jury members as constructive. He went on to say that he was interested in the Iranian cuisine. Russian juror Sergey Dvortsvoy said that his dream came true by traveling to Iran. “I desired to visit a new country to get familiar with its culture,” he added. “I was keen on getting acquainted with new jurors in the festival and watching various cinematic works.” Andrea Morghen from Italy termed the participating movies in the event as those with “high quality”. Exchanging views with other jurors was interesting, he further noted. An Iranian member of the international jury, Ahmad Reza Mo’tamedi called selecting the best works “demanding”. Another Iranian juror, Hatef Alimardani said “Our job was choosing the best movies among quality contenders.” Spanish juror Jose Maria Lara noted that our choice could help select the qualified flicks. Presided by Mojtaba Amini, the 42nd edition of Iran’s largest annual film festival kicked off on February 1, 2024. The closing ceremony is eagerly anticipated at the Milad Tower International Convention Center on February 11.
