The conference titled, “International Film Screening: Opportunities and Threats for National Cinema” is going to be held at the Faculty of Cinema and Theater, with cultural and cinematic managers, cinematic guilds’ representatives, and domestic and international professors in attendance.
According to the public relations office of the 34th FIFF, the conference titled “International Film Screening: Opportunities and Threats for National Cinema” is going to be held at the Faculty of Cinema and Theater simultaneously with the fifth day of the festival, on Sunday morning, April 24th, at 9.30 a.m.
At this conference, cultural and cinematic managers, cinematic guilds’ representatives, and domestic and international professors will discuss the effects of screening international films on national cinema and its cultural, economical, and social aspects.
The trends that will be discussed at the conference include, “The Role of Screening Screening International Films in National Cinema”, “The Cultural and Social Outcomes of Screening International Films”, “The Similarities and Differences between Screening International Films in Cinemas, or Broadcasting them on TV, or Home Entertainment Network”, “Cultural Policies of Different Countries about Screening International Films and its Consequences”, “Priorities for Selecting International Films for Screening”, “The Capacities of Iran Cinematic Market for Screening International Films”, and “Screening International Films and International Communications and Transactions”.
Dr. Hessamodin Ashna, the president’s Cultural Advisor, Dr. Hojatollah Ayoubi, Head of Iran Cinematic Organization, Muhammad Reza Jafari Jelveh, former Cinema Deputy, Morteza Kazemi, the Economic Advisor of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Reza Mirkarimi, the Manager of Khaneh Cinema and the Director of the 34th FIFF, will attend this conference.
The Faculty of Cinema and Theater is located on South Mofatteh St., next to Shahid Shiroudi stadium. This conference is free to attend for researchers, and cinema activists.
The 34th edition of Fajr International Film Festival is being held from April 20th to April 25th, 2016 in Charsou Cineplex, under the supervision of the well-known Iranian filmmaker, Mr. Reza Mirkarimi, who is also the Managing Director of Khaneh Cinema.
